Human Rights as Political Tools: An Interdisciplinary Conversation

Human rights have been and remain controversial,despite their emergence as the dominant ethical discourse in contemporary global politics. Dr. Michael Goodhart, Associate Professor of Political Science & GSC Interim Director, will present an alternative account of human rights as political tools that addresses some of these key controversies. A conversation with a panel of interdisciplinary experts will follow: Peter Campbell, Department of English; Lynn Clarke, Department of Communication; Jasmine Gonzales Rose, School of Law, and Lester Olson, Department of Communication.
