Hemispheric Conversations Urban Art Project (HCUAP, pronunciation hic‧cup) is a platform for conversation and education about aerosol art production, and to explore aesthetic and historical connections in the post-industrial cities of Pittsburgh, Chicago, and León Guanajuato Mexico. HCUAP is organized by Caitlin Bruce, Oreen Cohen, and Shane Pilster in collaboration with the University of Pittsburgh and Rivers of Steel Arts offering Fall programming is focused on graffiti post industrial history in education and Spring programming focuses on graffiti, social change, and hip hop culture through outreach workshops throughout the city. All events are free and open to the public.

HCUAP guest artists Wes (MX), Orion (MX), Kif (MX), and Stef Skills (Chicago) will be painting live with local Pittsburgh artists Shane Pilster, Nick Sardo, Danny Devine, Jess DuVall, and Jerome Charles. During this special field trip day visitors will be invited to see the processes behind aerosol mural production, ask artists questions, and experiment with their own drawings. Attendees will also be entered into a raffle for free art supplies from Artist and Craftsman, Squirrel Hill.

This event is free and open to the public of all ages, but is capped at 50 visitors. Be sure to register in advance.
